Louisville Association of the Deaf hosts first gathering since pandemic began
The clubs and organizations of America continue to reopen as more and more people become vaccinated. One such group is the Louisville Association of the Deaf, who recently scheduled an in-person picnic for their members. The Association waited this long to have an in-person meeting, so they did not need to wear masks. Masks impair sign language, and as a result, make it difficult for Deaf people to communicate with each other. Like many meetings post-Covid, the meeting is partly an excuse to meet with friend, old and new, in person. The group also hoped to raise funds for their cause.
