Financial Aid
Travelers Protective Association – Scholarship Trust for the Hearing Impaired
This trust provides financial aid, including scholarships, for the deaf or hearing-impaired who will benefit from medical, mechanical, specialized treatment or specialized education. Special consideration is given to individuals demonstrating the greatest financial need. Amount of financial aid grants including scholarships generally range from $100.00 to $1,000.00.

ASHFoundation – Student With a Disability Scholarship
This scholarship supports CSD graduate students who demonstrate academic achievement and promise, awarding up to 15 scholarships of $5,000 each.

Sertoma – Communicative Disorders Scholarship
This scholarship is for graduate students pursing advanced degrees in audiology or speech-language pathology from institutions in the U.S. These scholarships, worth $1,000 each, are awarded in the spring to help offset the cost of tuition, books and fees incurred during the following school year.

AG Bell – Arts & Sciences Award Program
Available to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in grades one through twelve, awards allow students to participate in after-school, weekend or summer programs that enrich learning and develop skills in the arts or sciences.

AG Bell – George H. Nofer Scholarship for Law and Public Policy
This program provides up to three awards of $5,000 each year for full-time graduate students who have moderately-severe to profound hearing loss, use Listening and Spoken Language, and are attending an accredited law school or a masters or doctoral program in public policy or public administration.

National Cued Speech Association – Carol Shuler Memorial Scholarship
The Carol Shuler Memorial Scholarship is for Cued Speech users and awards $500 to a student from the West region (Arizona, Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah or Washington).

Millie Brother – Scholarship for Hearing Children of Deaf Adults
This is an annual scholarship awarded to hearing children of deaf adults to help them pursue post-secondary education. The scholarship can be used for undergraduate or graduate study. On average two $3000 scholarship are offered annually. These are one-time scholarships, but you may apply for as many years as you are in school.

Microsoft – disAbility Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to promising high school seniors who plan to attend a vocational or academic college majoring in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, law, business, or a related field and have a financial need. The amount of this renewable scholarship to be awarded is $5,000 per year, up to $20,000 total.

Cochlear – Graeme Clark Scholarship
This scholarship is for graduating high-school seniors who are Cochlear™ Nucleus® implant recipients. The award is $2,000 per year for up to four years.

Gallaudet University – National Literary Competition (NLC)
Deaf and hard of hearing students may participate in the ASL competition (for grades 2–12) or the Writing competition (for grades 6–12). One Grand Prize winner from each competition will have the option of choosing from three prizes: an all-expense-paid trip to Gallaudet, free registration for Gallaudet’s Summer Youth Camps, or a $500 scholarship to Gallaudet. Students may participate in each competition as many years as they are eligible.

Gallaudet University – Graduate Fellowship Fund
The fellowships are intended for deaf or hard of hearing students who have been accepted in an accredited graduate program in a college or university. Preference may be given to applicants with master's degree or the equivalent and are seeking a doctorate.

Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation
Newcombe grants support the completion of baccalaureate degrees by students with disabilities who have documented financial need. Awards are made only to colleges and universities; individual students may not apply for scholarships directly from the Foundation. Students interested in applying for a Newcombe Scholarship should contact their institutional financial aid or scholarship office.
