Deaf Program At Logan Square Elementary School Won’t Close, CPS Says — But Parents, Students Still Have Concerns
Chase Elementary in the Chicago region has long had a Deaf and Hard of Hearing program. Recently, CPS officials offered the possibility of “phasing out” the program. Parents, students, and teachers alike rebelled against this, protesting against the possibility of the program being discontinued. The program has helped many Deaf and Hard of Hearing people, and as a result it would be devastating if it were discontinued. The CPS has responded saying that people have nothing to worry about, and that the program would continue.
