ASL Glee Club brings performing arts to the deaf community
An American Sign Language class is getting recognition for their staged sign performances and for bringing entertainment to the deaf community. Students in this class learn how to provide entertainment to deaf audience members in a number of theatrical performances. This ASL glee club stands out from all other traditional glee clubs in that they create a visual interpretation of what a hearing person would experience when listening to music. They go above and beyond just interpreting song lyrics for the deaf audience members by also conveying the emotions and feelings the music brings forth.
This class prides itself on being the only ASL glee club that they are aware of and has big dreams for the class in the future.
