Washington School for the Deaf alumna named 2023 Washington State Teacher of the Year

Dana Miles was recently named “2023 Washington State Teacher of the Year” at Washington School for the Deaf. Miles credits her students and the deaf community for the honor she received. She hopes to use this opportunity to broadcast Deaf Language and Culture to people far and wide. The teacher has gone to great lengths to ensure that her school, and her class, are diverse and culturally rich for the Deaf community. Miles also hopes to teach her students real-life skills applicable outside the classroom.
