Suit Demands CNN Offer Online Captions for Deaf
As the owner of CNN, Time Warner is being sued for failing to provide captions on their online news videos. Without this captioning, thousands of deaf Californians must rely on a text synopsis, or wait for the evening news. According to the suit, CNN’s lack of captioning violates several Californian laws regarding disability and civil rights. As the world becomes increasingly more dependent on the Internet, the suit is pushing for mandatory captioning on CNN.
