How CODA Won Best Picture

The 2022 Oscars will go down in history for several reasons. However, the triumph of CODA winning Best Picture should not be overlooked. The Deaf Community has had its eye on the piece for quite some time. The film uses genuinely Deaf actors. After premiering at the Sundance film festival, CODA beat the odds by winning best picture at the 2022 Oscars. This may be due to the film getting big at the right time, or due to the charisma of the actors. Apple TV made a very wise decision in purchasing this film for their library. Hopefully there will soon be more Deaf-based films being released.
