Deaf and hard of hearing individuals face larger obstacles than those who do hear. Lisa Peterson discusses the issues of getting a job where employees will not treat them just like every hearing employee. In addition, she mentions that it is difficult to get a job especially when an interpreter is needed, but the company does not have the financial stability to implement it. Although there is a law to make reasonable accommodations for deaf employees, some businesses respond that it would be too much of a financial burden.
