Arizona becomes second Legislature to install technology for hard-of-hearing
Arizona’s state Legislature added a new loop system in early January. Such a system enables sound from microphones to be streamed directly to hearing aids and cochlear implants with telecoils. This helps to cut down on background noise people with these aids sometimes experience.
“This technology is incredible. You get [sound] crystal-clear in a way that we haven’t been able to have before,” said Lesli Sorensen, deputy chief of staff for the House of Representatives.
