An Entire Town Secretly Learned Sign To Surprise Their Deaf Neighbor

In an ad campaign for Samsung, a young deaf man named Muaharrem’s sister, Ozlem, joined up with his neighbors and a production crew to give him a big surprise, and a great day. After a month of preparation in setting up cameras around the neighborhood and teaching the neighbors sign language, Muaharrem and his sister go on a walk on a seemingly normal day in their town in Istanbul. However, everywhere Muaharrem goes he is greeted and spoken to in sign language. After he is exceptionally confused, it is explained to him that this was part of an advertising campaign for Samsung, and their new video call center for Turkey’s hearing impaired.
