A Denver disability lawyer was excluded from jury service because he’s deaf. Now he’s suing the court.

A Denver lawyer, Spencer Kontnik, recently was excluded from being a juror, for the sole reason of him being deaf. This may violate the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act. Kontnik and his allies are currently in a fight to get the Colorado county court to stop these discriminatory practices. Kontnik specializes in helping those who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Court. Several other Deaf lawyers have experienced similar incidents in Colorado.
