ACEHearing has the ability to test an individuals hearing, with accuracy comparable to a hearing test performed by an audiologist. The smartphone can then adjust itself to the hearing level of its user, producing sound frequencies at an optimal level for that user.
Developers of the app hope for it to be available commercially in 2012, and hope to see the technology span not just smartphones, but any sound-producing device.
