Deaf and hearing theatre working together on stage

New Zealand Sign Language is working on a bilingual theatre piece, At the End of My Hands, which highlights New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) and spoken English. Dr. Laura Haughey is the director of the production and the facilitator. She has spent eight years now working with deaf theatre, and with this piece she looks to tell the history of NZSL, which became an official language in 2006. Hearing and deaf audiences can view the show alike, and experiences the stories the deaf actors have to share about their culture.
